About Photographer Betty Burfeindt

Betty Burfeindt

Born in NYC, Betty became an avid athlete in all sports. She settled on golf at the age of 13. Betty graduated from Cortland State University with a BS and was on the college golf team. Upon graduation, she enjoyed a brief school teaching career in Florida.

After playing in various amateur tournaments, Betty joined the Ladies Professional Golf Association in 1969. Her 17 year tour career resulted in: 5 tournament wins including a major, the LPGA Championship; Golf Digest's "Most Improved Player"; 4th leading money winner two years in a row; and Golf Digest's "Best Driver" two years in a row.

Photography has always been Betty's second love. Some of her favorite works include black and white photos of Yosemite; the beauty of our desert landscapes; and for the past 12 years she has specialized in capturing the true essence of her client's beloved pets with in-home photo sessions.

Betty continues to give golf lessons at The Springs Club in Rancho Mirage, CA where she has been a teaching professional since 1984. Not one to sit idle for very long, she keeps busy with lessons, searching for that special pet photo and framing various works of art for homes throughout the desert.

"Her biggest talent - and she doesn't sing her praises... is how she really captures the spirit of the animal." - Nancy Carlson, D.V.M, Animal Medical Center, Palm Desert, CA

"It's just like a photographer taking photos of a baby. You have to have patience and Betty displays that each time we've had a session." - Roni Eventov, owner of 3 Scotties and 2 cats.
